First Responder Educational Grant Application

The Behind the Badge Charities First Responder Educational Grant Program supports the continuing education and professional development of active first responders in Fort Bend County, TX. To be eligible for grant consideration, applicant must be a current peace officer, reserve peace officer, correctional officer, probation officer, emergency medical technician/paramedic, firefighter, or 9-1-1 dispatcher serving with a governmental or volunteer emergency response agency within Fort Bend County, Texas. If approved, grants will be awarded once per calendar year per applicant, to cover tuition, certification, or associated costs in eligible fields.

Applicant must submit:

  • Completed application with personal statement and signed eligibility acknowledgement & integrity statement
  • Copy of program acceptance letter or proof of enrollment
  • Letter of support from employer or department head, including verification of employment/volunteer status as a first responder serving Fort Bend County, Texas
