First Responder Assistance

Behind the Badge Charities provides financial support to Fort Bend County first responders in time of family tragedy or crisis. The "10-33" Responder Assistance Fund provides need-based grants to individual first responders who have suffered injury, serious illness, or other disaster that traditional insurance or other assistance has not covered.
In order to qualify for assistance, the first responder must meet at least one of the following criteria:

  • Current full-time employee of a Fort Bend County first responder agency

  • Current part-time employee of a Fort Bend County first responder agency

  • Currently work in an unpaid, reserve capacity for a Fort Bend County first responder agency

  • Deceased, but actively employed or working in a reserve capacity for a Fort Bend County first responder agency at time of death.
